Pretty self-explanatory poll (if you're unsure about the exact year, vote for the closest one). The game was released in 2004 and over the years it has attracted players from all over the world. There were different peaks in activity throughout the years; I'd say mostly during the late 2000s and early 2010s, although in 2017, with its release on Steam (fun fact: CS2D was the last game ever to be greenlit in Steam Greenlight before they stopped that project), there was a massive surge of popularity (which unfortunately didn't last long). As a follow-up question: how did you find out about the game? I'm curious to see all the different answers you all will have regarding this lil' game which has become a somewhat niche hobby for many of us.
In my case, I first discovered it in 2008 (maybe late 2007). I was only 10 years old at the time and had such a crappy PC that couldn't even run CS 1.6 properly (which was a massively popular game here), so I decided to search for other CS games and was absolutely ecstatic when I discovered this 2D top-down game that I could play. I realised it was not actually an "official" Counter-Strike but didn't care much and got addicted to it and, well, here I am, 13 years later, asking this to you all. On a side-note, my current USGN account was made in 2010 because I lost access to my first one. Little did I know that, years later, USGN IDs with the least numerical digits would be so "valuable".

My bestfriend showed me this game back in 2015, we were mostly playing Roblox Jailbreak and we were into the Prison things. He introduced me to CS2D Jail and rest is history.

I remember how I found CS2D pretty well: it was December of 2014, we were having holidays from school, so I decided to look for some games to play during that time. After I found some game and I was waiting for it to finish downloading, I opened Youtube and saw a "CS2D editor" video in my recommended tab, it was basically a timelapse of some guy making a map in CS2D editor. I liked playing CS as a kid and plus I also liked 2D games, so yeah, the game looked pretty cool and I decided to download it

I remember discovering CS2D in 2008, but I don't remember how. I spent almost all my childhood on CS2D, playing shotgun with my colleague Darklight and soon after joined the FWS servers
