Buckle up.
Hi everyone, not really sure where to start. Long story short, I'm leaving. As in stepping down as the administrator of -[IFwsI]- and slowly exiting our and the CS2D community bringing this journey to an end. It's been a long, fun ride. I've had my moments with CS2D and you may have noticed it already - if not, I've been severely inactive during the past year in addition to my attention to the community is near nowhere as it used to be. I don't mind having this being a cliched or dramatic exit, my time here simply means that much to me. I've been planning this for quite some time, so here goes.
For the new faces in our community, I've been the administrator of -[IFwsI]- since a few years. We had this awesome Captain Kenpachi (actual name, Daniel), who is the owner of -[IFwsI]-, even now after his passing away. He passed away due to an unknown illness to us. I sort of arrived in -[IFwsI]- after being a long lasting player of HC // Fun. I had just entered the CS2D scene and my 2 favorite servers were HC // Fun and -[IFwsI]- Jail. Back then we had the classy jail maps and there was a lack of moderators in my time zone so I applied for mod for the server and got accepted. After a while, I got promoted to mod2.
About a year and a half later I joined the clan and bloodline with the ability to pre-pend the honorable -[IFwsI]- tag before my name. I had skillzzx in FTP, LUA and what not so I requested Capn' Ken to let me help him out. After a while, I requested the position of Admin and Capn' promoted me to Co-Leader of -[IFwsI]-. That was a major milestone for me in the community. My aim since then and now was to keep the -[IFwsI]- Legacy go on. This community has been very impactful on me and the CS2D community, and for the love of it I've tried my best with the help of many to keep this community go on. I'm pretty sure if it was just me, we'd be in a ditch. I'm really grateful to many of you for sticking around.
As time passed, I've gone to having my hand in quite a lot of things. Right now I work professionally on website designing and continue to learn programming. Furthermore, with college hung over my head, I don't have anymore time to work on the community anymore, especially since I'll be getting into University next year and that'll be the end of this. CS2D was a great hobby - and my addiction for years, both as a playtime and development. I've met with a plethora number of people here that turned are simply awesome and amazing. If were to name them all, it'd be longer than this emotional goodbye.
I think I've done as much as I can or could've to keep the -[IFwsI]- Legacy running. I apologize if I offended anyone (except for any verdicts taken during decisions - then you deserved that ) and I thank you people for the awesome time and for sticking around.
Right now, I feel-[IFwsI]- is has taken up the right path. There will be bumps on the road - we've already faced many - but that has never stopped this community. We've a dedicated administrative team, tournament(s) set up by our event managers and our number of servers are back. In fact, you may see a few more servers pop up in the coming weeks! We've (admins) have had a couple of meetings to set the correct procedures of things, how-tos and some other stuff to keep the community running. I'm really glad to have the new administrators, Elfing, Kingagkis & Yashukiller on board. They're doing their best to keep the community running alongside their social lives. It's unfortunate that EpicBaron had to leave but that's how life works.
Furthermore, I'd like to give out a huge shoutout to Elfing for keeping the servers running, Yank for his awesome help setting the servers up and helping against the "summer of Ddos", HappyCamper for his lit af admin script, the old & inactive admins for doing their best when they were around, Kenpachi & Wildthing for this epic community and lastly you guys for being a part of it!
I'll visit sporadically, but I won't be available for any sort of administration purposes. If you want to get in touch, I'm available on Discord.
I'll wrap this up before I start repeating what I've already written. It's been a memorable time, my journey with CS2D officially ends here.
Oh, also, for the sake of keeping this thread fun, you guys can AMA(ask me anything) below and I'll answer it!
