The purpose of this thread is to give you totally random proven information to improve your general knowledge. This one has nothing to do with CS2D.

Quimbaya artefacts are small gold objects discovered in Colombia around 1000 years ago. Some of these objects bear an uncanny resemblance to modern flying machines (propeller or jet planes, for example), which has fuelled the wildest theories. In reality, these little statuettes represent animals common to the region: birds, reptiles, etc.

Rounding errors in computing can cause tragedy. In 1991, 28 American soldiers were killed because of a problem of this type during the Gulf War: an American anti-missile system failed to intercept an Iraqi missile due to an accumulation of rounding errors, resulting in a 0.34-second delay in calculating the missile's trajectory. Not much time, but enough for the anti-missile to miss its target by 500 meters.

Chernobyl's "elephant's foot" can kill you if you can see it. In fact, it's a highly radioactive concentrate formed as a result of the meltdown of the nuclear reactor core, known as corium, which has taken on the appearance of an elephant's foot. This cluster is so radioactive that being able to see it means you're close enough to receive a lethal dose of radiation in a matter of minutes.

hey, just checked the forum, so here it is :
Mantis shrimp, small, colorful marine creatures, have an extraordinary vision ability. They can perceive 12 to 16 types of color cones (compared to only 3 in humans), which means they see shades of colors completely invisible to the human eye. But that’s not all: they can also detect polarized light, helping them spot prey and predators that most other animals can't see. On top of that, their punches are so powerful they can break aquarium glass!
